About Me

Passport picture of Dr M KittelI am a GP with a portfolio of different activities. My heart has always been in being a GP with an ability of providing patients with local, immediate and helpful solutions. As my alternative choices as a doctor would have been either an eye surgeon or a plastic surgeon. I therefore chose a path of offering patients help with dermatological and musculosceletal conditions supported by joint injections and minor surgical procedures. Where practical procedures are concerned I am always happy to support patients actively as far as possible.

My surgical interest also led to the desire to do something different and so I became the first person in the vicinity to offer no-scalpel vasectomies and starting a community clinic at St Marks Hospital in 2005 transferring the procedure from hospital into the community with the strong support of the local GPs and East Berkshire PCT.

I am furthermore a commissioner for Bracknell and Ascot CCG. As commissioner I have been actively involved in the Design and Commissioning of the new AIRs community service, Supported Self Care, the HealthMaker scheme and Education (GP, nurse and patient education). My other work includes Planned Care. I am the lead in Respiratory Medicine and Ophtalmology. All these areas go hand in hand and in my opinion, lead to better local care. I was very much involved in the design of the Urgent Care Centre in Bracknell.
